Bubba Watson has unquestionably been a champion both on and off the golf course. When not perfecting his touch on the putting greens across the county, Watson has been an unwavering advocate for adoption and for families who choose adoption.
Adoption is somewhat personal for the eleven-time PGA Tour winner who has used his influential public platform to help drive awareness for the need of post-adoption support services. Watson and his wife, Angie, are adoptive parents to their two young children, Caleb and Dakota.

In a Twitter post on February 19th, Watson announced his new role as a an ambassador for Jockey Being Family, which is a foundation associated with the apparel company, Jockey. In his role, Watson hopes to “ensure that adoptive families get the support and resources they need to stay together. Forever.”
In a recently released promotional video, “Show Em What’s Underneath,” Jockey highlights the story of Angie and Bubba’s difficulty conceiving biological children and their journey toward adoption. The couple then shares that they were denied three times in the adoption process, but stayed positive throughout the rollercoaster of emotions.
Angie Watson says, “Every child deserves to grow up in a forever home.”
In another video Watson highlights his new ambassador role while speaking to the journey of adoption for himself, and the challenges that arose.

The Watson family has also been an active force as National Adoption Spokespersons for The National Council For Adoption. After going through the entire adoption process firsthand, the Watsons were inspired to use their experience and lend their voices to encourage others to learn more about adoption – whether a young woman facing unintended pregnancy, or individuals hoping to become parents and build a family.
“Angie and I have been incredibly blessed by the gift of adoption. Our kids mean everything to us, and everyday we’re excited to watch them grow and learn something new. We want to give them the best life possible, and it breaks our hearts to think so many kids out there don’t have a family of their own – and that there are people out there who might not understand just how awesome adoption is,” Bubba Watson writes on The National Council For Adoption webpage.
The foundation, Jockey Being Family, currently works with numerous partner organizations across North America with which they have joint programs to support adoptive families.
It’s hard not to get emotional talking about the challenges we faced creating our family, but all the bad stuff disappears when you’re holding your kid in your arms.
