Pete Buttigieg Claims Mike Pence is a Christian “Hypocrite,” But He Supports Abortions Up to Birth

September 3, 2019

Indiana Democrat Pete Buttigieg claims to be a Christian even though he supports the killing of unborn babies in abortions.

He claims to be pro-choice, though, as mayor of South Bend, he tried to stop a pregnancy resource center from opening down the street from an abortion facility. The Democratic presidential candidate claims to care about women, but he celebrated when an abortion chain that amassed dozens of health and safety violations opened a new location in his city.

Then, last week he slammed pro-life Vice President Mike Pence and other Christian politicians as “hypocrites” for supporting President Donald Trump, according to National Review.

His remarks stemmed from a question posed by the Religion News Service about the policy of separating illegal immigrant families who are arrested at the border.

Buttigieg said he wanted to be “careful” about condemning the sins of others, but “it’s clear that some naked sins are being at best condoned by people who then summon religious arguments. That rings more and more hollow.”

He criticized Pence, a former Indiana governor, for supposedly not practicing what he believes about Christian sexuality.

“It’s not just that we might have a different interpretation of faith, it’s that these arguments no longer stack up even on their own merits, right?” Buttigieg said. “For example, Mike Pence’s view of Christian sexuality is obviously a little different than mine. But even with his view, it makes no sense to condone this president and his behavior.

“So there’s two layers to this. There’s the fact that I subscribe to a vision of faith that leads me to a certain place politically. But it’s also just seeing the hypocrisy among people who now endorse people and practices that are offensive, not only to my values, but to their own,” he continued.

Buttigieg also referred to a passage in the Bible that warns against condemning a speck of dirt in someone else’s eye when there is a log in your own.

Though Buttigieg says he is a Christian, he supports abortion – the destruction of unborn babies’ lives. Christianity long has condemned abortion as a grave moral evil because it destroys an innocent human being who is made in the image of God.

But Buttigieg openly embraces this evil. He supports Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion chain in America, and says he would consider forcing taxpayers to fund elective abortions by repealing the Hyde Amendment.

In August, when asked about abortions in the third trimester, he said he thinks they should be legal.

“The bottom line is, as horrible as that choice is, that woman, that family, may seek spiritual guidance, they may seek medical guidance, but that decision isn’t going to be made any better, medically or morally, because the government is dictating how that decision should be made,” he said.

He also slammed Alabama’s new law to protect unborn babies as a “cruel attack” on women.

The “cruelty” that Buttigieg spoke of is not letting unborn babies be slaughtered in their mothers’ wombs. And the “freedom” that he claims to support tells women that they can only be free if they can pay an abortionist to kill their child.

As James 1:27 states, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” The Christian faith is centered around loving human beings, especially the most vulnerable. And none are more vulnerable in our world today than babies in their mother’s wombs.

THE GOOD NEWS

SALVATION

Salvation is a FREE GIFT from God. SALVATION IS BY FAITH ALONE & FAITH IS BELIEVING WHAT GOD SAYS.

  1. God declares all mankind sinners and we all fall short of Glory of God. Romans 3:23
  2. The payment for our sin is death. Romans 6:23
  3. But God…because he loved you so much sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to die in your place, for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead three days later. 1 Cor 15:1-42cor 5:21

All God asks is that you believe by faith alone in 1, 2, & 3. That you’re a sinner, separated from God but God sent his Son to die for your sins, was buried & rose again 3 days later.

‘that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ‘

Romans 10:9
