Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris released her own Medicare-for-all proposal today. Just like the proposal handed down by pro-abortion presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, Harris’s plan would force Americans to fund abortions.
Harris confirms her plan will cover abortions in an explanation sheet written about it.
“Medicare for All will cover all medically necessary services, including emergency room visits, doctor visits, vision, dental, hearing aids, mental health, and substance use disorder treatment, and comprehensive reproductive health care service,” it says.
Using taxpayer funds to cover abortions will not go over well with most voters, a leading pro-life campaigner says.
“Kamala Harris’ Medicare for All proposal is yet another example of Democrats’ extremism on abortion,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.
She told LifeNews: “The latest call for taxpayer-funded abortion on demand through birth under Medicare for All might please the Democrats’ most radical pro-abortion base in the primaries, but this agenda is wildly unpopular with the American people, including a strong majority of Independents and more than a third of Democrats who oppose taxpayer funding of abortion. While her rivals have become more brazen in their desire to force taxpayers to pay for abortions, Harris now hides her support for abortion on demand behind the euphemism of ‘reproductive health.’ The American people deserve clarity.”

Harris recently came under fire for praising an abortion activist who celebrated aborting her unborn baby.
In May, Harris introduced a plan that would require states to get permission from the federal government before passing laws that ban, restrict or regulate abortions. Specifically, states that have a history of passing pro-life laws would be subjected to the oppressive mandate.
“We are living through an all-out assault being waged on women’s health and reproductive rights,” her campaign said in a statement. “Kamala Harris believes we need to fight back and block these dangerous and deadly laws before they take effect.”
Requests would go through the U.S. Department of Justice, which would determine whether the law can go into effect. If the DOJ rules in favor of the law, abortion activists still could challenge it in court, according to Harris’s plan. In essence, her would force a federal government agency to defend abortion on demand – even if future presidential administrations disagree.
The plan, a kind of “preclearance requirement,” is similar to the Voting Rights Act, which the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against in 2013, the New York Times reports.
Harris has a 100-percent pro-abortion voting record from the National Right to Life Committee. As attorney general of California, she prosecuted David Daleiden for exposing Planned Parenthood’s allegedly illegal sales of aborted baby body parts. Recently, she voted against a bill to protect newborn babies from infanticide.
