A Kansas family with a big heart grew seven members bigger this month when they adopted a group of siblings from foster care
Siblings Emerson, 12, Autumn, 11, Jaxon, 9, Journey, 8, Jace, 7, Piper, 5, and Sawyer, 3, spent a year apart in the foster care system, according to Good Morning America.
Lisa and Gary Fulbright, of Derby, Kansas, initially became foster parents to three of the siblings, but later welcomed all seven into their home, the report states.
And on April 10, the Fulbrights officially adopted all seven siblings as their own.
“Everyone was ecstatic, it was a full courtroom,” Lisa Fulbright told the news outlet. “Autumn, she woke up this morning, stretched and her first words were, ‘I’m adopted!’”
Life with seven children is chaotic, but the Fulbrights are used to it. They have ten other children in addition to the adopted siblings; but almost all of them are now adults and live away from home, KAKE News reports.
“It’s kind of chaos but it’s a fun type of chaos because we just love them,” Lisa said, noting trips the family has taken to go ice skating and ride roller coasters.

The Kansas family said they knew it would be difficult to find a family that would take all seven siblings, so they decided to step up.
“Not too many people are willing to adopt seven together and it was important to keep them together,” Lisa said. “They had been through so much they didn’t need to lose each other.”
She said their faith and love for family was their motivation.
“We’re doing what God’s purpose is: Take care of the children in adoption since they don’t have a family,” Lisa said.
