Christian Churches Closing Everywhere
Christian Persecution is spiking everywhere around the world. Another Protestant Christian Church has its doors closed this time in Algeria. Rabah Messaoudi is Pastor of a Protestant Christian Church who actually won a legal case to keep his Church open in 2017. Sadly he just received notice on December 30, 2018, that he must close his doors for good.
War Declared on Christianity
It’s as though the world’s governments have openly declared war on Christianity. Don’t get me wrong Christian persecution has been around for thousands of years. And millions of Christians have lost their lives since the cross but this is different.
There is an onslaught of overt violence against Christians everywhere around the world. With an underlying message that we “the world” will get you out of the way one way or another. It’s Terrifying!
The World Hates Jesus Christ
Why? To the world, we don’t fit, believers convict the unsaved world of their sin. And as those in the world get worse and worse “Christians” become more of a problem. But the real reason is the world hates Jesus Christ. And because we love Christ over the world they hate us. As true believers being indwelled with the Holy Spirit.
If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.
John 15:18
If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. John 15:19
And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. ‘ Matthew 10:22
Christianity is:
- Exclusive, not inclusive
- Bigoted
- Homophobic
- Close minded
- Dangerous
- Racist
- Hateful
- Refuse to recognize gender equality
Tough Road Ahead for All Christians
And whatever the flavor of the day is for these demonic governments. The setting for this Pastor and his congregation has to be a tough one. Algeria’s State Religion is Islam and 99% of the 40 million or so population are adherents. This Pastor and many of those who are facing the same persecution in China remind me of 1 Thessalonians 1;
We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, ‘
I Thessalonians 1:2-3
The Church in Thessalonica was facing heavy persecution from every quarter. But they stood fast in their faith and the apostle Paul was letting them know that he kept them in his prayers and was encouraged by there work of faith.
And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe. For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything.
I Thessalonians 1:6-8
For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.
I Thessalonians 1:9-10
The Power of the Gospel
The power of the gospel is mind-boggling. Just like the Church in Thessalonica, Pastor Rabah Messaoudi and his flock face an onslaught of persecution but they are keeping their faith and putting their trust where it needs to be in Christ.
