Vice President Mike Pence denounced Democrats this week for rejecting bills to protect babies from abortion and infanticide.
“As Republicans continue to support important pro-life policies, Democrats are bowing to the most radical elements of their party & refusing to protect babies still in their mother’s womb,” Pence wrote Tuesday on Twitter.
Because of Democrat lawmakers’ love affair with the billion-dollar abortion industry, the U.S. Senate narrowly blocked two pro-life bills Tuesday that would have banned late-term abortions and provided protections for infants who survive them.
The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act both failed to obtain the 60 votes necessary to overcome Democrats’ filibuster.
Pence slammed Democrats for opposing such basic, common-sense protections for babies during a speech Tuesday in Michigan, The Oakland Press reports.
“Democrats in the Senate actually voted down legislation that would protects the lives of children that survived abortions,” he said. “I’m proud to serve as vice president to a president who stands for the right to life. He’s the most Pro-Life president in American history.”
He welcomed all pro-life Americans to join the Republican Party, responding to Democrat leaders growing rejection of pro-life voters.

“President @realDonaldTrump is the most pro-life President in our Nation’s history & our Administration will always fight for the innocent lives of the unborn,” Pence added on Twitter.
The Democratic Party has grown increasingly radical and out of touch with most voters on abortion. The party platform supports abortion without limits and calls to force taxpayers to pay for them.
All of the top Democratic presidential candidates also support abortions through all nine months of pregnancy and want to force taxpayers to pay for them. Two of the candidates, Bernie Sanders and Pete Buttigieg, recently even refused to welcome pro-life Democrats into the party.
But that is not where most voters stand on the abortion issue. Two new polls from Marist and Gallup show strong public opposition to abortion on demand.
According to Marist, more than six in 10 Americans (62%) say that if the Supreme Court revisits Roe v. Wade it should allow states to determine restrictions (46%) or make abortion illegal (16%). Only 33% of Americans say Roe v. Wade should be interpreted to allow for legal abortion any time without restriction.
Gallup found that 58% of Americans are not satisfied with current abortion laws, and more want stricter laws that limit or ban abortions.
