Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin is the Kind of Pro-Life Governor America Needs

August 8, 2019

Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin is the kind of leader we need in statehouses all over the country.

This year Gov. Bevin signed into law four measures aimed at saving lives. House Bill 5 would save babies from being aborted because of their race, gender or disabilities. Senate Bill 50 requires abortionists to tell mothers that a chemical abortion can be stopped after she takes the first drug in the two-pill regimen. Senate Bill 9 would save babies with beating hearts. And the optimistic, forward-thinking House Bill 148 will make abortion illegal in the Bluegrass State once Roe v. Wade is overturned.

He signed these bills knowing full well that abortion profiteers and the American Civil Liberties Union would try to stop some of them in court. And even though challenges have been filed to the heartbeat law and the law to protect babies from selective elimination, Gov. Bevin decided to sign all four bills again, ceremonially, this week at the Daviess County Courthouse in Owensboro, to demonstrate how important these life-saving laws are to him and his constituents.

The fate of a fifth life-saving law, which would protect babies from excruciating dismemberment abortion, is now in the hands of a federal appeals court.

This is far from the first time I have sung the praises of Gov. Bevin. In 2016, Priests for Life thanked the governor for signing a law that amended Kentucky’s informed consent law to include an ultrasound before every abortion. That law, challenged by the abortion cartel, was upheld earlier this year by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the same court that just heard oral arguments on the dismemberment abortion ban. Now we continue to wait to find out if the U.S. Supreme Court will hear a continuing challenge to the common-sense ultrasound law.

In 2017, we cheered Gov. Bevin’s efforts to close the state’s last abortion business, EMW Women’s Surgical Center in Louisville. Unfortunately, it remains open, killing about 3,000 unborn children every year. But the governor was successful in closing down a Lexington abortion business, owned by the same individual, after state inspectors found expired medication and filthy instruments and exam rooms there.

Keep up with the latest pro-life news and information on Twitter.

Gov. Bevin is up for re-election this year, running against Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear, who has refused to defend the state’s pro-life laws. Electing Beshear would mean the reversal of all the good pro-life work done by lawmakers and activists in the state, including Governor Bevin.

In 2015, most polls predicted Gov. Bevin would lose the three-way race, but he won with 53 percent of the vote, becoming the first Republican governor elected since 1948. Until 1992, Kentucky governors could serve only one term. If Gov. Bevin is re-elected, he will be the first Republican governor to serve consecutive terms.

Governors who pay attention to the abuses of the abortion industry are safeguarding the health and safety of women in the state, as well as their unborn children.

THE GOOD NEWS

SALVATION

Salvation is a FREE GIFT from God. SALVATION IS BY FAITH ALONE & FAITH IS BELIEVING WHAT GOD SAYS.

  1. God declares all mankind sinners and we all fall short of Glory of God. Romans 3:23
  2. The payment for our sin is death. Romans 6:23
  3. But God…because he loved you so much sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to die in your place, for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead three days later. 1 Cor 15:1-42cor 5:21

All God asks is that you believe by faith alone in 1, 2, & 3. That you’re a sinner, separated from God but God sent his Son to die for your sins, was buried & rose again 3 days later.

‘that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ‘

Romans 10:9
